Built in 1937, Popp Fountain was restored to its original grandeur in 1999. The fountain,
60-feet wide, sends up a dramatic spray of water 30 feet into the air from a cast bronze base of leaping dolphins designed by artist Enrique Alferez.
An upper promenade, bordered by 26 Corinthian columns draped in
wisteria, surrounds the fountain. Both upper and lower promenades circling the fountain are bordered by perennial plantings and the walkways at ground level are landscaped with native flora.
