Special events are a specialty at City Park!
For more than 100 years, City Park has hosted major entertainment, athletic and cultural events for crowds of a few hundred to 50,000 and more. Numerous unique venues and expert staff ensure each major event will be memorable and handled professionally. Here are a few ideas.

Plan a concert or music festival…Musical artists that have performed in City Park include John Phillip Sousa, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Buffet, Pearl Jam, Snoop Dog, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, the New Orleans Opera, the New Orleans Pops, Cash Money and numerous local artists such as Marva Wright and Kermit Ruffins.

Organize a major athletic event…City Park has hosted such events as the New Orleans Open (PGA), U S Olympic Track & Field Trials, Tiger Woods Foundation Clinic, Crescent City Classic, and Tulane University Homecoming.

Other types of events that have been hosted by City Park include: theatrical performances, outdoor movies, dog shows, atrs and craft shows and sales, garden exhibits, road races, fishing rodeos, tennis tournaments, canoe races, lectures, talent shows, recreational vehicle rallies, polo matches, competitive horse shows, and so much more!

**No Major Events may be booked, nor may any dates be "held" for a major event without prior approval of the Special Events Committee and/or the City Park Chief Executive Officer. Major Events are defined as attracting a live audience of more than 5,000 people for more than four consecutive hours in any 24-hour period and/or produced amplified sound of more than 75 decibels at 25 feet for more than 50% of such time per City Noise Ordinance 42-A-5, paragraph 3.
