City Park Tennis

Named one of the outstanding public tennis facilities in the
country by the United States Tennis Association in 2003

One of the largest public tennis facilities in the South, the City Park Tennis Center has been named one of the top 25 municipal tennis facilities in the country by Tennis magazine. Call (504) 483-9383. City Park Tennis offers a number of adult and children's programs.

The City Park Tennis Center has been host to many tournaments throughout the years, including the USF&G Sugar Bowl International Tennis Classic, The New Orleans Oilmen's Tennis Tournament and the United States Tennis Association's National League Championships.

In addition to the 11 hard courts previously open, the park has opened 10 clay courts.

Prices are $7 per hour for hard courts and $10 per hour for clay courts.

The United States Tennis Association recently awarded the park a grant of $150,000 which allowed for the court refurbishment and rehiring of tennis staff.

The Tennis Center is currently located in the Wisner Tennis Center (the brick building) near the corner of Victory and Anseman Avenues, across from Storyland.
